Alyce, your hostess, is an avid quilter. She belongs to the Ketchikan quilting group "Rainy Day Quilters". Alyce made all the quilts on the beds in the guest rooms as well as the quilts you see decorating other areas of Alderhouse.
These quilts are "Quilts of Valor" designed and created especially for soldiers wounded in the war in Iraq. They are sent to veterans' hospitals to comfort young men and women hurt while carrying out their duties to our country.
